Tha National Library is part of the Palace of Culture building, located at Skenderbeg Square, in the center of the city of Tirana, built in 1966. It is located in the historic center of the city and is part of the architectural heritage fund as a cultural monument of the second category, declared in March 2007. The challenge of the project is to modernize and transform the National Library from an object of book heritage to a contemporary study envirmoent and a research center in –line with today’s technology for an intelligent and aware user who is part of an interactive society aiming to fulfill its national needs in a competitive international arena.
